That was Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, giving an update during his press conference on Sep. 29th.

The island’s first dedicated dialysis centre will house five state-of-the-art dialysis stations, accommodating up to 20 patients, upon completion.

In late August, four healthcare specialists arrived on Nevis “forming an important part of the team at our soon-to-be-opened Dialysis Centre”, Minister of Health-Nevis, the Hon. Jahnel Nisbett said at the time.

The team comprises of three nurses from the Philippines, who have specialist training and experience in haemodialysis, and a biomedical technician who will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of the unit’s specialized medical equipment.
