Easter celebrated in flood of activities in Nevis

The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis joined the world in observing and celebrating the season of Easter via a number of activities from Friday, April 9th (Good Friday) to Monday, April 10th, (Easter Monday).

 

 

 

Easter is a celebration practiced in Christianity for the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. The actual day of Easter is said to be three days after the death of Jesus on the cross which was Sunday, April 9th, 2023.

 

 

 

On Nevis, the weekend comprised of a number of church services and concerts, kite flying, sporting activities and indulgence of the traditional saltfish, conkies, ground provisions, etc.

 

 

 

Wishing seasonal greetings was Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley who said during a Facebook post on Friday, April 7th, that he is encouraging persons to devote their time and reflect on the reason behind the reverential season.
