ECCB celebrates 40th Anniversary of operation

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is currently celebrating its 40th year of service. An official launch of celebrations was carried out through a ceremony on January 19th, 2023 at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium at the ECCB Headquarters in Bird Rock, St. Kitts.

 

 

 

The ceremony consisted of the keynote address delivered by Chairman of the ECCB Monetary Council, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance in St. Lucia, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, the forecast attaining to the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and the state of affairs for the bank was delivered by Governor of the ECCB, Timothy Antoine:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meantime, the event also saw the recognition of Adiaha Inanga from St. Kitts who placed second in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank StampDesign Competition.

 

 

 

The competition was open to persons throughout the Caribbean in different categories, where Ms. Inanga copped second place in the 5-11 years old category.

 

 

 

She was awarded with a certificate and plaque.

 

 

 

Also present at the ceremony was the Right Excellent and the Right Hon. Sir Kennedy Simmonds, Prime Minister – Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley and Attorney General Hon. Garth Wilkin.
