Employers need to be held accountable for employees Social Security Contribution says Stakeholder

During a panel discussion hosted by the St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Fund, one (1) of the major topics debated was “the need for Employers being held accountable for their respective employees’ contribution to the Social Security Fund”.

 

 

 

In the federation, employers have the responsibility for deducting the required sum from an employee’s salary and ensuring it is paid towards the fund. There are situations, however, where employees are learning that there has been a lack of contributions being paid which leads to individuals being unable to access their benefits.
