The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis released on Apr. 10th, the 2026 schedule for its Discounted Value Added Tax (VAT) Rate Days (DVRD)’s.
A release from the Government said “these designated shopping periods will offer substantial savings on qualifying purchases during key times of the year.”
The following dates have been approved for the reduced VAT rate: Easter season: Friday, Apr. 17th– Vehicles are excluded from the discounted rate.
Summer season (Back-to-School): Friday Aug. 28th and Saturday Aug. 29th – Vehicles are excluded from the discounted rate.
Christmas season: Friday Dec. 11th and Saturday Dec. 19th – Vehicles will be included in the discounted rate.
It comes on the heels of as geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions continue to challenge economies worldwide and even in St. Kitts & Nevis.
The DVRD’s are designed to ease the financial burden on households, boost consumer spending, and support local retailers during critical seasonal periods.
