Federal Gov’t receives donation from Taiwan

The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis on Thursday May 11th accepted a donation of medical equipment from the Embassy of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) during a ceremony held at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

 

 

 

The donation was made by the Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation, a charity group based in Taiwan.

 

 

 

The medical equipment will go to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities.

 

 

 

Included in the donation were: eighty (80) adult wheelchairs, seventeen (17) wheelchairs for children, twenty-four (24) steel folding commodes, fifty-two (52) aluminum walkers and one hundred and twenty (120) aluminum walking canes, which will be utilized at the hospitals, health centers, the Cardin Home and other elderly care institutions.

 

 

 

Minister responsible for Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities, the Hon. Isalean Phillip said the equipment received will be of great use in her ministry.
