A number of firefighters attached to the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) were recognized on Sunday, May 7th, for their service to the safety and order of the federation during an Awards Ceremony at the Solid Waste Management Conference Room, St. Kitts.

Through the handing over of certificates and medals, individuals were honored based on a number of categories including: number of years contributed to the fire services, dedication, courage to overcome and fire education prevention.

The Ministry of National Security issued a statement and thanked all for their service, especially persons were awarded for over twenty and thirty years of service.

The statement went on to say that the potential dangerous and thankless job of a fire officer is no easy feat. It also encouraged more citizens and residents to venture for roles of leadership and national service as we move forward to secure the federation’s future.
