Fishers acknowledged in SKN on World Fisheries Day 2023

Fishers across St. Kitts and Nevis along with the rest of the globe were acknowledged on Tuesday, November 21st, as World Fisheries Day was recognized by member of the United Nations.

 

 

 

World Fisheries Day is celebrated annually on November 21st to highlight the importance of sustainable fisheries management and to draw attention to the crucial role of small-scale fishers in ensuring food security and livelihoods for millions around the world.

 

 

 

In St. Kitts and Nevis, the day was celebrated, under the theme: “Cast your nets”. Addressing the nation and speaking on the importance in sustainable fishing practices was Federal Minister of Fisheries et.al, Hon. Samal Duggins:
