Haitian nationals to be repatriated January 31st; Premier denounces human trafficking

Some twenty-one (21) nationals of Haiti remain in custody, after entering the Federation via Nevis illegally on January 2nd 2022, on a vessel that ran aground at Bath Village.

At his 1st monthly Press Conference for 2022, Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, announced that they will be repatriated:

 

 

Thus, several persons from both St. Kitts and Nevis received a number of charges:

The charges include: Harbouring a Fugitive, Harbouring Illegal Immigrants and Illegal Entry into the Federation.

 

Datus Gregoire and Vincent Wendy-Darlene, both of whom are nationals of Haiti residing at McKnight, St. Kitts and Rudolph Claxton of Craddock Road, Nevis, were apprehended following an operation conducted on a house at Old Hospital Road, Nevis, at which a small group of illegal immigrants were found.  

 

Leroy Walters of Government Road, who was present at the time, fled the scene, but was later captured by the Police.
