Her Majesty’s Prison to limit number of visits, amid Coronavirus
Starting next Monday, March 23rd 2020, visits to Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) will be limited to one person per inmate at a time between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays.
So says a Communiqué from the Police Force.
The release said, because the community at the Prison is considered especially vulnerable to infectious disease outbreaks and residents live so closely together, as a precautionary measure, the management of the Prison has taken the decision to limit the number of visits to residents at HMP.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared recently, that the Coronavirus is now a pandemic.
In the release, the Police Force requested the full cooperation of the public during this time, as the move is in the best interest of all involved.
The measure will be in place for 30 days, after which the management of the Prison will reevaluate the situation.
