Following the announcement of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) to expel Hon. Cleone Stapleton-Simmonds from all institutions of the NRP, the representative of Nevis #5 (St. Thomas’ Parish) gave her views on the decision during the “Let’s Talk Program” on VON Radio, on Tuesday night, May 2nd.

Appearing on the show just hours after the NRP’s announcement, Mrs. Stapleton Simmonds said she remains firm in her service to the people of Nevis and will continue to be their voice, especially in St. Thomas’ parish.

According to the statement released by the Nevis Reformation Party, the decision of expulsion came as a result of “Stapleton-Simmonds’ failure to comply with the decision of the Executive Committee for her to support the Hon. Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge, Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party, as Leader of the Opposition in the Nevis Island Assembly.”
