The re-construction work being done on the Small Pier at the Charlestown Port has been temporarily stalled.

This was revealed by Manager of the Nevis Air and Seaport Authority (NASPA), Mr. Oral Brandy in an interview with the VONNEWSLINE on Wednesday 22nd January, 2020.

He explained to us why the work has come to a standstill.

Mr. Brandy noted that it was in the best interest of the project and lives to take the necessary precautionary measures despite the project is 50 percent completed.

He also reassured the general public that the project will be completed in short order once the conditions are conducive.

Mr. Oral Brandy.

In 2019, Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, announced that a contract in the amount of US $325,330.00 was signed to reconstruct the damaged pier in Charlestown with work to commence in November of 2019.

The pier which is the smaller of two piers at the Charlestown Port was severely damaged and rendered unusable over two years ago.
