Investigations ongoing into positive COVID-19 persons seen in Basseterre

Reports of persons, who are confirmed cases of COVID-19 in St. Kitts, being seen in Basseterre, over the last days of limited operations (Thursday & Friday), have come to the fore.

With community spread of the Virus present in St. Kitts, could this be a super spreader?

The Federation is presently under a 24-hour lockdown and the next days of limited operations (allowing persons to visit supermarkets for example), are Thursday July 8th and Friday July 9th, from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, according to the current Regulations (which can be viewed via our Facebook page at VON Radio).

Member of the National COVID-19 Task Force – Superintendent Cromwell Henry gives us more details:

Mr. Cromwell Henry.

The main condition for persons who are in quarantine or isolation is to remain confined to your home or any place that is approved by the Chief Medical Officer.

Though investigations are ongoing, the VONNEWSLINE will continue to bring updates on the matter, once details become available.
