Almost a year after the launch of the Inland Revenue Department’s (IRD) SMARTS E-government platform, how has it been for persons?
The VONNEWSLINE spoke with representatives from the IRD-Nevis earlier this month, who indicated it has been “good” for persons, but there have been “inconsistencies” with the filing. Senior Tax Officer at the Taxpayers services division, Ms. Jamilla Clarke, provided this information to assist persons, experiencing difficulties:

SMARTS (Sustainable Modernized Administrative Revenue Tax System) was launched on Feb. 6th 2024. It represents an advancement in efforts to provide a more efficient and user-friendly tax administration system. SMARTS incorporates the payments of several taxes online such as: Corporate Income Tax, Unincorporated Business Tax etc.
