St. Kitts and Nevis has seen an increase in small earthquakes in its vicinity over the past few months. The last two quakes, a 3.4 and 3.7 were recorded on January 14th and 20th respectively.

In sensitizing the public, the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD) has undertaken a Multiple Hazard Campaign in various areas in an effort to educate persons on Disaster Preparedness. Each month, a natural disaster will be selected to bring more awareness. January has been selected for earthquakes.
