“All motorists are urged to park responsibly and with consideration for others,” according to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

In a recent press release, the lawmen mentioned that “one of the most common complaints received is vehicles being parked across private driveways and garages, preventing residents from entering or leaving their properties.”

This causes unnecessary inconvenience and, in some cases, can delay persons who need urgent access to medical care, work, or other essential activities.

Motorists are reminded that it is an offence to park across a driveway or garage entrance, or within fifteen (15) feet of such an entrance.

The release also stated that Drivers are encouraged to: park only in lawful and designated parking areas, ensure their vehicle does not obstruct any driveway, garage, gate, or entrance and be mindful that convenience for one motorist should never come at the expense of a resident’s right to access their property.

Vehicles found in violation may be ticketed, removed where necessary and drivers may be held accountable in accordance with the law.
