Leader of SKNLP expresses concern in his New Year’s Address

In his New Year’s Address, Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas expressed his concern with reference to the 2021 National Budget. 

 

The Appropriation (2021) Bill, 2020 was read a third time and passed in the National Assembly on Monday, December 21st, 2020.  

 

The Bill is to provide for the services of Saint Christopher and Nevis for the financial year commencing 1st January 2021 and ending on 31st December 2021.

 

The Bill is to the tune of $867,919,842.00 dollars and is up by $19 million from the 2020 Budget, EC$848.9 million dollars. 

 

He said “we must establish target levels of economic growth and apply all our ingenuity and insight, to ensure that the people are protected”.
