Lawmen are investigating a suspected accidental electrocution in which a private electrician died.

The incident occurred on Sunday Dec. 22^nd at Stoney Grove, Nevis, between 9:45am and 10:45am. Initial inquiries indicate that Berley Walwyn of Hardtimes, Nevis, was electrocuted while attempting to establish a temporary electrical connection to a live main NEVLEC source.

Although EMS responded to the scene, all attempts to resuscitate Mr. Walwyn proved futile and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death and updates will be issued accordingly.
