Mental Health Day observed here in SKN

“Mental Health for All – Greater Investment – Greater Access”

That’s the theme for this year’s observance of World Mental Health Day.

World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide, who.int says.

St. Kitts and Nevis joined the rest of the world in observing the day and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health here on Nevis, Ms. Shelisa Martin-Clarke, on behalf of Junior Minister of Health, the Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, said in her address to commemorate the day, “the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) is committed to investing in the mental health of its people” and by improving access to mental health services for all ages.
