Ministry of Agriculture’s School A-Grow Competition announces its winners
The Ministry of Agriculture’s School A-Grow Competition culminated at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park on Friday November 11th, with a prize giving ceremony.
At the ceremony, each school made a visual presentation showcasing the progress of their gardens, student involvement and the overall impact the competition had on their respective schools.
The placements for the competition are as follows:
Greenhouse Category – Winner: Cecele Brown Integrated School.
Field/Garden Category – 1st Place: St. Thomas’ Primary School, 2nd Place: Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School, 3rd Place: Violet O. Jeffers Nicholls Primary School.
This agricultural development activity took place over a number of weeks with students taking part in the care and maintenance of various plants. The participating schools included the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary, St. James Primary, St. Thomas’ Primary, VOJN Primary, Joycelyn Liburd Primary, Cecele Brown Integrated School, Ivor Walters Primary and Charlestown Primary.
