Top C.O.P. of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) has issued a stern statement in the wake of the Federation’s latest murders. On Wednesday Nov. 22nd, 29-year-old Lequani T. James and 24-year-old Kevin Collins, both of Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, St. Kitts, were gunned down in Lower Monkey Hill.

Kejaun Connanier of Carty Alley, Newtown, aged 21, also sustained gunshot injuries to both legs but was transported to the JNF General Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and is currently warded. The homicides took the Federation’s murder toll to 28 for the year.

Commissioner of Police (COP), James Sutton, expressed his condolences to the families on behalf of the Police Force and condemned the acts of violence and “the criminal elements that insist on perpetuating them.”

Though investigations into the matters continue, C.O.P. Sutton said “enough is enough! As the Federation’s chief law enforcement agency, we are determined to preserve law and order in St. Kitts and Nevis.” He added: “We will not…allow a few fiendishly selfish and uncaring persons to relegate the society’s existence to survival mode. It will not happen!”

Mr. Sutton mentioned that “we are more than you: we, the Police; and we, the people. You cannot win and we will make sure you do not win.” He spoke of the Force’s security plan for the 2023 Christmas and Carnival season as being “already in motion” and that “the RSCNPF will be highly active in the communities.”
