National Security personnel receives training to improve skills

Officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard, the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department and the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard have successfully graduated from the NASE Certified Dive Course 1 of 23.

 

 

 

The NASE Certified Dive Course was held in collaboration with the Commercial Diving Academy (CDA) Technical Institute of the West Indies. A ceremony was held on Friday, April 21st, at the Coast Guard Base, St. Kitts, where ten of the course graduates were presented with their certificates.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the first week of Executive Leadership training for Senior officers within the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force; St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services; St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force; St. Kitts and Nevis Coast Guard; His Majesty’s Prison; and the Ministry of National Security, is underway at NEMA, St. Kitts.

 

 

 

The course is designed to impart the knowledge and strategic leadership skills required for all agency officers to effect positive and innovative change within their requisite organisations.

 

 

 

The training session began on Monday April 17th and will end on April 29th, 2023. It is being facilitated by Dr. Edwin Witt Powell, a security expert and human rights advocate from Chase City, Virginia. The course, titled: “Executive Leadership: Empowering Performance-ready Leaders,” is being taught to a mixed group of twenty (20) officers.
