Nevis Appropriation 2023 Bill, 2023, passed into law

After three (3) days of presentations and rebuttals, the Nevis Appropriation 2023 Bill, 2023, was passed into law in the Nevis Island Assembly, on Thursday, February 23rd.

Premier Brantley, who is also the Minister of Finance, presented the 2023 Budget on February 20th, “Charting the pathway to socio-economic transformation: investing to accelerate growth”. It is to the tune of EC $261, 650,850 dollars.

 

 

 

Then on February 21st, the Debate began with the rebuttal from Member of the Opposition, Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge. Thereafter, presentations were made and the House of Assembly had to be adjourned until February 23rd, to allow Members of Parliament (MPs) on the Government side, to attend a Sitting of the National Assembly.

 

 

 

This year’s Budget saw an increase of over $30 million, as the 2022 Budget was to the tune of EC $229.04 Million dollars.
