Nevis Appropriation (2025) Bill, 2024 passed in the Nevis Island Assembly
Following days of debates in the Nevis Island Assembly, the Nevis Appropriation (2025) Bill, 2024 was passed on Thursday Dec. 5th.
The Bill appropriates certain sums of money for the use of the public service for the island of Nevis for the financial year, beginning on January 1st, 2025 and ending on December 31st, 2025.
Premier of Nevis and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Mark Brantley, delivered the 2025 Budget Address on Dec. 3rd, where he presented an EC $273.1 million dollar budget for the fiscal year 2025. This is a reduction of about EC $9 million, when compared to the 2024 budget which was $282.7 million.
Presentations were then made by member of the Opposition, the Hon. Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge and then the other members on the Government side and the Opposition. A few Resolutions were also adopted in the Assembly on Friday Dec. 6th.
In St. Kitts, the National Budget will be presented by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew on Monday Dec. 16th, in the National Assembly.
