The Nevis Christian Council recently released a statement, promoting the maintenance of decency throughout the celebration of Culturama 49.

The council applauded the work of the Culturama Secretariat in highlighting the talents of citizens and residents in the Creative Arts. The Council also made their endorsement known for the celebration of the positive aspects of Nevis’ culture. It made a special appeal to revellers, patrons and the public in general to continue to up keep proper practices in areas such as language, dress and general behaviour and also strongly discouraged all aspects of crime and violence.

The organization also requested that the relevant stakeholders staging the various activities, respect the culture of the society as it pertains to religious activity and due care be taken to ensure that planned activities do not disrupt public worship.
