Nevis’ CoVID-19 Compliance Task Force to begin checks on businesses this week
Nevis’ CoVID-19 Compliance Task Force will commence its checks on businesses this week.
The purpose of the Compliance Task Force is to ensure that businesses and public transportation, comply with the health and security measures, such as social and physical distancing protocols, in light of CoVID-19.
The SRO No. 15 of 2020 Emergency Powers (CoVID-19) Regulations, state that “a person who contravenes or fails to comply with these Regulations shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars or a term of imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months or to both and to forfeiture of any goods or money in respect of which the offence has been committed.”
Director of Emergency Operations Center, Mr. Brian Dyer, speaking during a CoVID-19 briefing held on Monday, gave this information.
