Nevis’ Premier addresses temporary restriction at VA Int. Airport
Nevis’ Premier has addressed issues with the fire tender (or fire truck) at the Vance Amory International Airport.
The Hon. Mark Brantley mentioned via his Facebook page on Easter Monday Apr. 21st, “we have been having some issues with the fire tender at the Vance Amory International Airport which has forced us to temporarily restrict the size of aircraft that can land there.”
He added that “we are actively seeking to have the fire tender fixed while we pursue the acquisition of another tender. Operations at the airport remain open to other smaller aircraft as usual.”
Mr. Brantley stated “as Premier, I sincerely apologize to those passengers on Winair who have been badly inconvenienced and commit to resolving this issue as quickly as possible.”
He said he asked NASPA (Nevis Air and Seaports Authority) to keep the public updated.
