Two weeks after the Prime Minister’s announcement of a 10 percent increase on salaries for civil servants, STEP workers and pensioners, Nevis’ Premier and Minister of Finance announced stated that instead of that, those on Nevis will receive a 15 percent increase. In an address on Monday night, the Hon. Mark Brantley, gave this information about the change.
This approach, according to Mr. Brantley, will enable the NIA to better manage the increases and allow for better management of the finances of the Government. The next pay-day is Wednesday May 25th. However, the increases will not be extended to Cabinet Members. In effort to bring relief to Non-Established workers on Nevis, Premier Brantley said:
