Nevis’ Superintendent expresses sentiments concerning further measures to ensure compliance of COVID-19 protocols

“Will any further measures be taken by police to ensure compliance of the COVID-19 Rules and Regulations as it relates to the wearing of masks and will social distancing be upheld?”

The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis currently has 19 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, which represent 17 recoveries, 2 active cases and zero deaths.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, announced last week that the Federation’s borders will be re-opened on Saturday, October 31st, 2020.

But locally, persons in the public are still not adhering to the COVID-19 protocols, which include the wearing of face masks, social and physical distancing etc.

Also, countries that have gradually re-opened their borders, have seen a resurgence in the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths, due to importation and community spread of the virus.

In response to the question(s) and taking into account the abovementioned, Superintendent of Police Division “C” (Nevis Division), Mr. Lyndon David, said everyone has a duty to protect themselves:

Superintendent, Lyndon David.
