The Ministry of Health, et.al through the Environmental Health Unit is currently undertaking Fogging in targeted areas to reduce the number of adult mosquitoes on the island of Nevis, until further notice.
This comes due to the increase number of mosquitoes and the increase in possible disease contraction such as dengue, chikungunya, etc.
The fogging takes place from 4:30pm to 7:00pm during one of the mosquito’s most active times. Residents are asked to keep their doors and windows open through the specified time to obtain the most effective results. According to a statement from the ministry, householders will be notified when the vector control officers will be fogging in the relevant areas. Fogging has also been carried out in St. Kitts in the fight to eradicate the spread of the diseases.
