The Charlestown Pre-School continues to open its doors to students, teachers and staff alike and has been doing so for the past 41 years. Located in Stoney Grove, Charlestown, the school has now received a newly renovated building where an official ceremony was held on Monday, January 27th, 2025.
The dedication prayer was conducted by Pastor Wayne Maynard. Deputy Governor General, Her Honour, Mrs. Hyleta Liburd performed the ribbon cutting accompanied by the Current Supervisor of the School, as well as, the longest serving supervisor,Miss Samika Warner, and Mrs. Brenda Smithen-Williams respectively. Additionally, a period of silence was observed for the late Lisa Lee, a former supervisor, who was laid to rest on Sunday, January 26th.
Present at the ceremony were Members of the Cabinet of the Nevis Island Administration including the Minister of Education, the Hon. Troy Liburd, education officials, staff, students and members of the community.
Current supervisor, Samika Warner expressed, her heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Education for the wonderful renovations done to the school. She continued by saying “Your support has created a brighter, safer and more inspiring space for our students to learn and grow.”
