The candidates vying for the Constituency #5, St. Thomas’ Parish seat here on Nevis, are Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM’s) Mr. Keith Scarborough and Nevis Reformation Party (NRP’s), Mrs. Cleone Stapleton-Simmonds.

The By-Election is slated for Thursday, March 5^th, 2020.

A By-Election is an election held in a single political constituency to fill a vacancy.

This was triggered by Mr. Joseph Parry’s resignation from the Nevis Island Assembly in (December 2019), who was the lone member of the Opposition.

As a result, according to SKN’s constitution, “a By-Election shall be held; to fill the vacancy within ninety days of the occurrence of the vacancy.”
