Opening Session of Nevis Island Assembly slated January 19th

The Opening of the New Session of the Nevis Island Assembly will be held at the Nevis Island Assembly Chambers on Thursday, January 19th, at 10:00 a.m.

 

 

 

It comes on the heels of the December 12th 2022 Nevis Island Assembly election where the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) won three out of the 5 seats on the island and thus, has a majority with three elected representatives while the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), has 2 seats.

 

 

 

According to Clerk of the Nevis Island Assembly, Ms. Myra Williams, the session begins with a Prayer followed by Proclamation; Election of President; Administration of Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance by the President; Administration of Oaths or Affirmation of Allegiance to other Members of the Nevis Island Assembly; Announcements by the President; Throne Speech by the Deputy Governor General, Mrs. Hyleeta Liburd, OBE, MH; and Adjournment.
