That was Federal Minister of Sports the Hon. Jonel Powell.

He made the announcement at the renaming ceremony of the Verchilds Playfield to the Samuel and Williams Sporting Complex in St. Kitts on Saturday, September 18^th.

Minster Powell also indicated that outdoor sports lights will be mounted at the basketball and netball courts as part of a wider upgrade project in the area.
