Cabinet Secretary of the Federal Government, Dr. Marcus Natta, recently gave an update on the Achieving Success through Personal Investment, Resources, and Education (ASPIRE) Programme, launched in 2024. It is a transformative initiative aimed at reshaping youth financial literacy in collaboration with the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank.

Designed for citizens aged 5 to 18, ASPIRE blends money management education, soft skills training, and mindset development to prepare participants for long-term success. Each enrollee benefits from EC$500 in savings and EC$500 invested in publicly traded shares, alongside structured financial education embedded in schools. The financial literacy phase is currently being piloted in the Basseterre and Washington Archibald High Schools in St. Kitts with the hope to introduce it in schools this year or next year.

Speaking on the programme’s progress, Dr. Natta highlighted its growing reach, with more than 4,300 students already enrolled, with savings already deposited in most accounts, representing over half of the eligible population. Work is also being done to continue the programme’s mandate on Nevis.

Additionally, Dr. Natta had this assurance for the public:
