Persons discouraged from cheating the Poverty Alleviation Programme system
Eligible citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis are being encouraged to utilize the Poverty Alleviation Programme (PAP). The programme allows households particularly with children, the disabled and the elderly receiving less than EC$3,000 a month, to receive aid to help with necessities.
However, Junior Minister with responsibility for Social Development, et.al Hon. Isalean Phillip strongly encouraged persons to dissuade from applying with intentions against the idea of the initiative such as multiple persons from a household receiving funds, using the aid for purposes other than necessities and receiving funds when the household gains more than EC$3,000.
