Plane crashes in waters just off Herbert’s beach, Nevis

A small Piper Single engine plane crashed in the waters off Herbert’s beach, Nevis, close to the evening hours Wednesday September 20th.

 

 

 

Reports indicate that it was travelling from Antigua to St Martin. The plane developed engine trouble and attempted to land at the Vance Amory International Airport but dropped short in the sea on approach.

 

 

 

The individuals were the pilot, who is from St. Martin and a student pilot from Anguilla. They were the only persons onboard.

 

 

 

They swam ashore after the plane crashed, with only a minor injury to the pilot. Emergency teams responded to the scene and the aircraft was removed from the water.

 

 

 

Identities have not been confirmed as yet. Investigation continues.
