The Police are currently investigating a suspected suicide at Prospect Estate on Nevis.

The incident occurred between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, that left one male deceased. It is understood that the deceased is Gavron Woolward of Prospect.

An investigation into the matter is in progress and an update as to the cause of death will be given in a subsequent newscast.

Meantime, the autopsy report on St. Kitts and Nevis’ 1st suicide case for 2024 shows that the female victim’s cause of death was due to multiple organ failures.

This was due to or as a consequence of suspected ingestion of a poisonous substance. A toxicology report to identify the substance is currently pending.

According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of Sunday, Janruary 21st at Spooners, Cayon, St. Kitts. Investigations are continuing. This would bring the suicide toll for the year to a total of two in the federation. 1 in St. Kitts and 1 on Nevis
