“Would an increase in the current fine for Littering reduce the practice among residents?” This is a question currently being deliberated as the nation trod towards becoming a Sustainable Island State.
Following several initiatives put in place such as ‘No Plastic Mondays’ and ‘Plastic Waste Collection Drives’ to reduce plastic in the environment, the Ministry of Environment Urban Development et.al has voiced its intentions of putting additional policies in place and submitting proposals to cabinet to amend certain legislation.
Such legislation includes larger repercussions for persons caught committing a Littering Offence.
