Proposed Desalination project making progress, says Nevis’ Minister of Water Services
During the Sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly on Thursday, August 24th, Minister with responsibility for Water Services, Hon. Spencer Brand provided an update regarding the proposal of a Desalination Plant to provide a solution to the island’s water issues.
Over the past months, it was reported that the water wells on Nevis were not recharging quickly enough, thus, causing rationing for residents on the island. The government has said that it has been looking into alternative measures to ensure water is available and one such measure has been to venture into Desalination.
Desalination is the process by which salt and impurities are removed from water. During Minister Brand’s statement, he provided this update:
