As the government continues in what it deems its “Good Governance Agenda”, government officials, board and statutory body members and other relevant individuals in the federal and Nevis Island Administration are being encouraged to get in alignment with the legislation and file their declarations with the Integrity Commission.
In accordance with the Integrity in Public Life Act, persons in specific positons are required to file their respective declarations of Income, Assets, and Liabilities. The recently amended act is in place to eliminate corruption for persons holding public office positions in St. Kitts and Nevis.
However, with some persons still yet to file by February 1st and who have refused to file in past instances, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mr. Adlai Smith has made it clear that there is no intention to further extend the date for filing and those persons must ensure they are in the constraints of the law:
