Federal Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Samal Duggins led a delegation to the 2023 Blue Justice Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
“The Conference brings together stakeholders worldwide to reflect on its progress, share lessons learnt and elevate enhanced leverage of innovative digital tools and multilateralism towards jointly realizing [its] goal: to address the challenges facing the use of the ocean and its resources towards a sustainable and fair Blue Economy.”
That is according to Ms. Uhl-ri-kah Mo-dah Ulrika Modéer, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The conference took place on Thursday, March 23rd and Friday, March 24th, 2023.
According to bluejustice.org, the conference provides the opportunity to: share experiences, highlight challenges and inspire creative solutions towards strengthened inter-agency cooperation and international cooperation to address fisheries crime and facilitates technical support in use of these digital tools, including Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Satellite based information.
Minister Duggins made remarks on St. Kitts and Nevis’ Fisheries and Cooperatives sector during a session dubbed: “Country Insights” on Thursday.
