Shaquille Taylor sentenced to sixty years for murder

Shaquille Liburd, 28, of Conaree Village, was charged with the murder of Constance Thompson on April 29, 2019. He appeared before the High Court, where, at the end of his trial on December 22, 2023, a guilty verdict was returned for the charge of murder.

 

 

 

On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, Mr. Liburd was sentenced to sixty years of imprisonment. Time spent on remand will be counted and Mr. Liburd will be eligible for a remission of one-third of his sentence for good behavior.

 

 

 

Additionally, Shirbon Eddy, appeared before the High court on Thursday, August 1st, 2024 and was sentenced to six years and eight months of imprisonment.

 

 

 

On January 31st, 2022, Mr. Eddy, 31, of Taylor’s, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. On May 24th, 2024, he appeared before the High Court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley KC, where he was arraigned and pleaded guilty to the charge. The time spent on remand will be credited to his sentence.
