SKELEC begins load shedding in St. Kitts

The voice of the St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) General Manager, Mr. Clement Williams.

 

Williams said some of the factors that also contributed to the Load Shedding are the failure of a G1 Alternator, the over hauling of a 33 year old G9 generator along with the failure of a number of stand-by units that are housed at the power station. He continued by stressing on the fact that the station is working at 50% of its normal capability:

 

 

The load shedding exercise began on Monday, September 5th.  The general manager also gave a time frame:

 

 

Tuesday’s schedule included Dieppe Bay to St. Paul’s, Sandy Point to Conyers, Tabernacle, Half Moon, Conaree, Shadwell to West Farm and Bird Rock.
