SKN Attorney General Outline laws to be tabled for 2023 parliament sittings

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Attorney General Garth Wilkin has recently outlined some of the bills that will be tabled during the sitting of parliament on February 8th, February 22nd 2023 and for the remainder of the year.

 

 

 

According to AG Wilkin the laws in question include: Anti-Corruption Bill; Integrity In Public Life (Amendment) Bill; Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill; Criminal Records (Rehabilitation of Offenders) (Amendment) Bill; Drugs (Prevention and Abatement of the Misuse and Abuse of Drugs) Amendment Bill; Cannabis (Amendment) Bill; Public Health (Smoking In Designated Areas) Bill; Dogs (Amendment) Bill; Domestic Violence (Amendment) Bill; Parental Leave Bill; Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill and the Elderly Abuse Prevention Bill.

 

 

 

Hon. Wilkin added and I quote: “Our team [at the Attorney Generals office] is crafting these important laws in consideration of the most creative solutions to societal problems in those 56 Commonwealth countries and in the best interest of ALL our People, not simply for the benefit this generation”.
