SKN records additional case of Covid-19, total confirmed now 34

The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis confirmed an additional case of the coronavirus disease, as of Thursday January 7th.  That’s according to a release from Federal Ministry of Health.

The international traveler landed in the Federation on Wednesday January 6th from the United States of America (USA) and has been in quarantine at one of the COVID-19 certified hotels, since arrival into the Federation. The patient was duly notified and is in isolation.

This additional case brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 34, with 22 cases for St. Kitts and 12 cases on Nevis. 31 cases have fully recovered and there are no deaths. However, there are now three (3) active cases.

The Ministry in its release said that the patients (which are the active cases) are stable and are being monitored.

In-depth contact tracing to effectively assess the persons with whom the recently diagnosed cases would have interacted with and quarantine, monitoring as well as testing of contacts as indicated, are measures the Ministry of Health continues to take to restrict the spread of the coronavirus.
