“SKN should remain prepared” so says Director of the NDMD

Given the recent seismic activity in the eastern Caribbean, should residents of St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) be expected to take any necessary precautions against any possible threats from earthquakes and or tsunami activity? 

 

This question was posed to Director of the Nevis Disaster Management Department, Mr. Brian Dyer who provided this response:

Last week, a number of seismic activity occurred in the Caribbean, which included a 5.2 magnitude quake in Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday, October 4th, a 5.2 magnitude quake in Grenada on Monday, October 5th, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake in the USVI on Wednesday, October 7th and most recently, a 5.1 magnitude that took place in St. Kitts and Nevis on Friday, October 9th
