The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) in St. Kitts-Nevis has now made it even easier to do taxes through the launch of SMARTS, which went live as of Tuesday February 6th.
According to the IRD, SMARTS will seamlessly incorporate the payments of several taxes online, namely Corporate Income Tax, Unincorporated Business Tax, Business and Occupation & Liquor Licenses as well as Value Added Tax (VAT).
A spokesperson for the department told the VONNEWSLINE that the new system officially went live in both St. Kitts and Nevis.
The launch took place at the department’s office on the Bay Road and was attended by officials including Financial Secretary Hilary Hazel, Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department Edward Gift and other staff members.
