St. Kitts and Nevis Cross Channel Swim celebrates 20 years after two year hiatus

After a two year hiatus, the St. Kitts and Nevis Cross Channel Swim will be held on Sunday, March 27th 2022, the day of its 20th anniversary since its inception.

The Cross Channel Swim was cancelled in 2021 and 2020 due to the restrictions on Sporting activities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organized by the SKN Swimming Federation and sponsored by the Nevis Tourism Authority, the race will take place across the Narrows from Oualie Beach on Nevis to Cockleshell Beach on St. Kitts featuring competitive and beginner swimmers.

Prizes will go to the top three male and female race finishers in the under-19, 20 to 39, 40 to 59 and over-60 age categories.

The annual event began in 2002, when members of a local club organized a swim across the Narrows between the islands of St. Kitts and Nevis in honor of Bente Weber, a member of their group who lost his battle with Cancer.
