Tragic Incident at Sugar Mas 52’s Panorama Competition

The St. Kitts & Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) expressed its sadness about a tragic incident that occurred during the Panorama Competition on Wednesday, December 27th.

 

 

 

In a press release, the Carnival Committee said “a member of the Nevis Community Development Steel Orchestra experienced a medical emergency while performing at this event. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to the hospital by ambulance, the beloved performer, sadly, did not survive.”

 

 

 

“The entire Committee, along with the steelpan fraternity and the wider community, is in mourning following this heartbreaking loss”, it added. The VONNEWSLINE has confirmed that the deceased has been identified as Dale Parry of Bath Village.

 

 

 

Meantime, EBJ Harmonics, from the Village in St Kitts, won the Panorama event for the 4th straight time, playing The Voice song “Long Live Soca”.

 

 

 

EBJ Harmonics amassed a total of 262 points. 1st Runner up – the Sugar City Steel Orchestra with 242 points and 2nd Runner up – Nevis Community Steel Orchestra with 231 points.
